About this Speaker

With over a decade of marketing, event planning, and sports industry experience, Glenda has expertise extending from experiential marketing campaigns to the formation of new brands and strategy development. In her current role, Glenda serves as the Senior Marketing Manager for North America’s largest energy event North America Smart Energy Week (A Top-100 Trade Show), in addition to a portfolio of regional events, leading their social media and video marketing strategy. She also leads the marketing for Jen Welter, the first female coach in the NFL, overseeing her signature program and marketing strategy, as well as brand and marketing development for the LaDainian Tomlinson Foundation's Preparatory Academy. During her tenure with the Washington Redskins, she managed the NFL’s largest women’s program and the team's training camp marketing, developing new community outreach initiatives and partnerships. She was responsible for launching the team's Passport to Richmond program, which engaged local businesses in the Richmond area during training camp, along with the Day in a Life women's football camp. Prior to joining the Redskins, Glenda was the marketing coordinator for NBC Sports Washington. In her role she was responsible for the network’s affiliate relations and social media and on-air marketing efforts, including the promotion of network content, events and contests. She joined the network in March 2010 as communications assistant before being promoted in 2012. Glenda also served as a full-time communications intern with the NFL Players Association. She is the Advisory Chair for the D.C. Chapter of Women in Sports and Events (WISE), a leading voice and resource for professional women in the business of sports and events, after serving as Chapter President for five years. Glenda earned her B.A. in Communications from the University of Hawai’i, with a concentration in Journalism and a Minor in Speech.
